Legal Secretary Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of personal injury legal support experience required
  • Direct experience filing through New Jersey Courts Online and e Courts systems required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Legal Secretary Preferred Background & Skills

  • Previous experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation

Legal Secretary Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Prepare pleadings, legal memoranda, discovery, and motions to support ongoing cases
  • Handle pretrial preparation, trial support, and assist in case management tasks
  • File documents and manage case submissions using New Jersey Courts Online and e Courts systems
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, and court staff regarding case status and documentation
  • Maintain accurate files, deadlines, and case documentation for litigation matters
  • Support attorneys across the entire litigation lifecycle with professionalism and attention to detail
