We are seeking a motivated Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for heavy highway and infrastructure projects where the company serves as the General/Prime Contractor. This role requires strong construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to develop cost-effective proposals that position the company to win work in state and federal markets.

The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure bids are accurate, compliant, and competitive.

Key Responsibilities

Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and risks
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, and material cost estimates
Prepare and submit bid packages using estimating systems such as HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
Track project addenda and incorporate updates into estimates
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements including prevailing wage and DBE/MBE/WBE participation
Maintain cost history, bid tabs, and subcontractor/vendor databases
Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth handoff once projects are awarded

Qualifications

3+ years of construction experience in estimating, project management, or field operations
Heavy highway and PennDOT experience preferred
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is a plus
Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, HeavyJob, and Microsoft Office or ability to quickly learn
Competitive mindset with a strong drive to win projects
