Business Development Engineer

Location: Near Mansfield, OH | Full-Time

A growing manufacturing company near Mansfield, Ohio, is seeking a technically strong Business Development Engineer to drive new business and manage key customer relationships. This role combines engineering knowledge with strategic sales and program management, supporting the development and launch of engineered components across industries such as automotive, major appliance, industrial, and heavy truck.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies for engineered products and components
  • Identify customer needs and promote custom-engineered solutions rather than catalog products
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with targeted customers to generate new business
  • Manage programs from opportunity through product launch in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Travel to customer and supplier locations as needed to support development and delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
  • Experience in technical sales, program management, or manufacturing engineering
  • Industry exposure in automotive, appliance, industrial, or heavy truck manufacturing
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as castings, molding, wire harness assembly, tooling, or machining
  • Understanding of product launch processes including APQP, PPAP, and program management
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel and work with international partners (passport required)
