Buyer Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • MUST BE willing to relocate to the New England area
  • Minimum 5+ years of buying experience, including roles as Associate Buyer and Buyer (not Assistant Buyer).
  • Progressive experience in merchandising or buying roles, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven expertise in vendor negotiations and relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, pricing, and fashion to make strategic decisions that drive sales and improve gross margin.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Buyer Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Negotiate favorable terms and build win-win vendor partnerships.
  • Drive measurable outcomes and enhance business performance through strategic buying decisions.
  • Assess complex issues and make timely, sound decisions to support product selection.
  • Develop strategic relationships and networks to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to influence and adapt to shared outcomes.
