In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all components and complex assemblies meet rigorous internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. As a key driver of continuous improvement, you will lead root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of quality excellence across the plant floor.
Core Responsibilities
- Quality Systems Management: Develop and sustain robust quality standards and control systems for both in-process production and finished assemblies.
- Problem Solving & Analysis: Lead structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams to eliminate recurring issues.
- Process Optimization: Partner with engineering and production teams to analyze process capabilities and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Monitor and report on quality metrics and trend data to identify risks and opportunities for proactive intervention.
- Supplier Quality: Coordinate with vendors to resolve non-conformances and ensure high-level performance across the supply chain.
- Compliance & Documentation: Manage the lifecycle of NCRs (Non-Conformity Reports) and CARs (Corrective Action Reports), ensuring cross-departmental follow-through.
- Standardization: Create and refine inspection procedures, control plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Training & Mentorship: Educate production staff on inspection techniques, compliance protocols, and general quality awareness.
- Audit Readiness: Support and maintain ISO 9001 management system requirements, ensuring all documentation is audit-ready at all times.
Performance Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Documentation Accuracy: 100% on-time completion of all inspection and quality reports.
- CAPA Resolution: Closing Corrective and Preventive Actions within 30 days with verified effectiveness.
- Defect Reduction: Consistent decrease in Defects Per Unit (DPU) in line with annual organizational goals.
- Efficiency: Meaningful reduction in "Punchlist Time to Close" metrics.
- Quality Consistency: Elimination of repeat deficiency findings and zero major non-conformances during audits.
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: Background in Quality Management Systems or Business Management; ASQ CQE or Six Sigma Green Belt highly preferred.
- Certifications: ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification is a strong plus.
- Professional Background: 3–5+ years of Quality Engineering experience, specifically within industrial manufacturing or metal fabrication.
- Technical Knowledge: High proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical inspection, and standards enforcement.
- Specialized Experience: Prior experience with welding standards, sheet metal fabrication, or power generation equipment is highly desirable.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with a "hands-on" approach to problem-solving.
