R&D Engineer – Agricultural Components
A well-established manufacturer in the agricultural equipment sector is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to join its growing team. Working under the guidance of the Director of R&D, this role focuses on designing, testing, and refining aftermarket components for agricultural machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and reverse-engineer components for agricultural equipment.
- Lead product validation efforts to ensure performance and quality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to transition designs into production smoothly.
- Evaluate new product opportunities and conduct feasibility reviews.
- Provide technical support across departments and mentor junior team members.
- Work closely with suppliers to develop and refine components.
- Manage project timelines and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
- 10+ years of product design and development experience.
- Strong background in castings, fabrications, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO; familiarity with 3D printing and reverse engineering tools.
- Deep understanding of metallurgy, particularly carbon steels and heat treatment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience:
- FEA tools and mechanical system analysis.
- Experience with automation, tolerance stack-up, and complex assemblies.
- Hands-on knowledge of agricultural machinery or similar equipment.
