Now Hiring: 5-Axis CNC Programmer / Machinist

Full-Time | Advanced Manufacturing | High-Precision Components

We are seeking a highly skilled 5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist to support the machining of complex, high-precision components used in advanced propulsion, defense, and marine applications. This role is responsible for programming, proving out first articles, and optimizing production processes for complex parts with extremely tight tolerances. The ideal candidate has deep multi-axis machining experience, strong problem-solving skills, and takes full ownership of the machining process from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities as a CNC Programmer

Program complex 5-axis CNC toolpaths using CAM software (HyperMill preferred)

• Perform first-article prove-outs and validate tolerances, surface finish, and quality standards

• Optimize machining strategies to improve cycle time, tool life, and production efficiency

• Set up and operate advanced 5-axis CNC machines

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturability challenges

• Troubleshoot machining issues using basic machining knowledge and process analysis

• Maintain strict quality standards and accurate documentation

• Support continuous improvement and process standardization

Qualifications for a CNC Programmer

• 5+ years of 5-axis CNC programming/machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment

• Strong CAM programming experience (HyperMill preferred)

• Ability to machine complex geometries to ±0.0005” tolerances

• Solid understanding of GD&T, fixturing, and multi-axis workholding

• Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC machines

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and process ownership skills

Preferred Experience for a CNC Programmer

• Aerospace, defense, propulsion, or advanced manufacturing environments

• Lean manufacturing or process optimization experience

• Experience supporting R&D or prototype development environments
