Senior Structural Technician

A leading regional architectural and engineering firm in Jackson, TN, is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Structural Technician position. This firm provides a wide spectrum of consulting services for facility and infrastructure design, operation, and management. Senior Structural Technician will assist Structural Engineers in all technical aspects of design and project production activities required on assigned projects. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding of the discipline’s technical policies and procedures.
• Developing, modifying, and/or reviewing drawings according to established standards and technical expertise.
• Interdisciplinary coordination.
• Assisting less experienced structural technicians or drafters.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Technical Diploma in Structural or Architectural Drafting.
• Ten or more years of applicable experience in the structural design discipline.
• Experience producing structural drawings for a variety of projects, including municipal, K-12 and higher education facilities, industrial, commercial, and pre-engineered metal building-type construction.
• Familiarity with standard structural details and building materials, including concrete, masonry, steel, and wood construction.
• Proficiency in REVIT is required.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Structural Engineers in project-related tasks.
• Coordinating with the project team, including architects, engineers, and drafters, to facilitate project design completion.
• Collaborating with other disciplines to determine needs, resolve problems, and provide technical information.
• Attending meetings with owners, clients, or other designers as needed.
