We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our team. Senior Mechanical Inspector Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect and test mechanical installations in progress and upon completion
• Advise contractors on necessary changes to ensure code compliance
• Conduct field inspections of various mechanical systems, including air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration, pressure piping, and fire suppression systems
• Perform acceptance tests for mechanical systems such as exhaust and supply fan operations and automatic fire suppression systems
• Provide recommendations and suggestions to contractors to ensure compliance with the South Florida Building Code
• Conduct inspections of commercial businesses for Certificates of Use and Occupancy
• Verify fire integrity of building construction for fire-rated shafts, partitions, and ceilings
• Organize inspection route schedules and maintain accurate records
• Respond to inquiries from contractors and the public, offering information and resolving conflicts
• Approve qualifications for homeowner permits

Senior Mechanical Inspector Requirements:

• Considerable knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in mechanical installations and building construction
• Strong understanding of mechanical system defects and effective corrective measures
• Thorough knowledge of codes and regulations governing mechanical installations and environmental protection
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints
• Excellent communication skills to explain, interpret, and enforce codes and regulations impartially
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software
• Florida Standard Inspector Mechanical License required
• Certification as a Mechanical Inspector by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
