A premier, high-volume resort is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to lead banquet operations for conferences, meetings, and social events. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, builds strong teams, and consistently delivers exceptional event execution.

Position Overview:

You will lead end-to-end banquet operations and oversee the teams responsible for event setups, service delivery, and breakdowns. Success in this role requires strong people leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to execute multiple events simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead banquet execution for meetings, conferences, and social events (setup, service flow, breakdown, and service recovery)
  • Manage banquet staffing plans and daily coverage; ensure teams are properly positioned for event load
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach, and performance-manage supervisors/captains and hourly banquet staff
  • Partner closely with Catering/Conference Services and Culinary to ensure accurate BEO execution and smooth client experience
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, and compliance standards in a high-activity event environment
  • Identify operational gaps and implement improvements that increase consistency, reliability, and team performance

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive banquet/event operations experience in a hotel/resort, conference center, casino, or comparable venue
  • 2+ years in a banquet leadership role with direct accountability for staffing, training, and execution standards
  • Proven experience leading multiple concurrent events and large-format functions
  • Demonstrated ability to build reliable teams (coverage, engagement, accountability, and retention)
  • Strong judgment, calm under pressure, and a hands-on leadership style
  • Comfortable working on-site in a role that requires mobility and oversight of active event setups/breakdowns
