Restaurant General Manager Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped, tiered profit-sharing bonus (potential up to $30K+ based on experience and results)

Restaurant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of full-service, high-volume restaurant general management experience (3–5 years preferred)
  • Background in established, upscale casual or polished casual corporate restaurant brands
  • Demonstrated leadership in staff development and retention, with a guest-focused approach
  • Strong P&L, COGS, and labor management experience
  • Solid communication and organization skills; maintains a polished, professional personal appearance
  • Ability to work a 55-hour weekly schedule (5 eleven-hour shifts with 2 days off)
  • Consistent job history (minimal short tenures within the past 5 years)
  • Willingness to complete in-depth training, which may require travel

Restaurant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with corporate systems (scheduling, POS, inventory) and scratch kitchen operations
  • Familiarity with beverage and bar management
  • Wine knowledge appreciated
  • Upscale casual experience from brands such as Bonefish Grill, PF Chang’s, Cheesecake Factory, Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, or similar

Restaurant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire all restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction throughout front and back of house
  • Oversee and coach managers and hourly staff, emphasizing personal growth and hospitality standards
  • Maintain high food quality, well-executed menu adherence, and service excellence
  • Manage financial performance, including profit-and-loss responsibilities
  • Plan and supervise staff scheduling, inventory, and ordering
  • Collaborate with all departments to maximize operational efficiency and drive team success
