Sous Chef – Knoxville, TN

Join a dedicated culinary team at a K-12 school in Knoxville, TN, where you can make a meaningful impact by serving students, faculty, and staff daily. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef who is passionate about cooking and wants to work in a supportive environment without the demands of weekends and holidays.

Sous Chef Benefits & Compensation

Competitive base salary of $60,000.

Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen.
Understanding of food preparation and sanitation standards.
Must clear a criminal background check and drug screen.

Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

Experience in schools, country clubs, or hospitals is a plus.
Certified Kitchen Assistant certification is a plus.

Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Ensure all food prepared meets high-quality standards.
Maintain inventory levels and order food products as needed.
Keep the kitchen clean and safe, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Perform daily inventory checks and maintain proper food storage.
Assist with cleaning prep areas and perform daily cleaning duties in the kitchen.
