Kitchen Manager – Santa Clara, CA

Full-Time | California-Inspired Restaurant with In-House BBQ Pit + Food Truck

I’m partnering with a well-loved, growing California restaurant group in Santa Clara that’s looking for a strong Kitchen Manager to help lead their culinary operations. This is a full-service restaurant that features an in-house BBQ pit and a food truck—not a traditional BBQ restaurant—so they’re seeking someone comfortable balancing classic kitchen operations with the added element of smoked and grilled items.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for the restaurant kitchen, BBQ pit program, and food truck
  • Ensure consistent execution and presentation across a diverse California-style menu
  • Train, coach, and support the BOH team, fostering a positive, respectful environment
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and all California health code standards
  • Work with leadership on seasonal menu changes and specials featuring local ingredients
  • Manage ordering, inventory, and support cost-control efforts
  • Help develop a strong, team-oriented kitchen culture

What They’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of kitchen leadership or supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of smoking, grilling, or pit-style cooking (not necessarily as a specialist)
  • Experience in high-volume restaurant kitchens; food truck or mobile kitchen experience is a plus
  • Strong operational skills: inventory, scheduling, systems, and cost management
  • A steady, supportive leader who communicates well and develops their team
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Appreciation for fresh, local ingredients and West Coast flavors

Bonus Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Culinary training or advanced certifications
