Controller – Bay Village, Avon area, OH

Controller Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or distribution
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting
• Experience supervising accounting staff
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
• Familiarity with GAAP and compliance responsibilities
• CPA or CMA is a plus but not required
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus

Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and account reconciliations
• Supervise A/R and A/P staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Coordinate annual review/audit and support external tax preparation
• Support operations with inventory accounting, costing, and margin analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Champion ERP system usage and improvements
