Senior Project Manager – Commercial Interiors

Tenant Improvement | Subcontractor Environment | Dallas–Fort Worth

This opportunity is built for construction professionals who understand interiors at a systems level.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-end commercial tenant improvement projects within a specialty subcontractor environment. These are precision-driven, finish-heavy build-outs where sequencing, coordination, and anticipation determine success.

This is not a ground-up general contractor position. The ideal candidate comes from interior specialty trades or complex commercial renovation environments and thrives in fast-moving, detail-sensitive spaces.

Position Overview

You will manage commercial interior projects from preconstruction through final completion, ensuring trade coordination, schedule control, and execution quality across tight, often occupied commercial environments.

This role demands strong spatial awareness, technical reasoning, and steady leadership under pressure.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee tenant improvement projects from kickoff through punchout
  • Coordinate drywall, framing, ceilings, millwork, glass, doors, flooring, and finish scopes
  • Validate field measurements and jobsite conditions prior to trade mobilization
  • Identify constructability concerns early and implement proactive solutions
  • Manage schedules, manpower, material flow, and sequencing
  • Collaborate directly with field teams to resolve challenges in real time
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, superintendents, and internal stakeholders
  • Deliver high-quality finished spaces with minimal disruption to occupied environments

What Sets the Right Candidate Apart

  • Background in commercial interior subcontracting or specialty trades
  • Strong ability to mentally assemble how systems integrate before installation
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple trades within tight, schedule-driven spaces
  • Technically curious mindset — understands how details impact downstream execution
  • Self-directed and accountable, with an ownership-driven approach
  • Composed, solution-oriented leadership style
  • Comfortable navigating evolving field conditions without overreaction

Strong Backgrounds Include

  • Drywall and framing contractors
  • Acoustical ceiling specialists
  • Millwork or casework companies
  • Glass and glazing contractors
  • Doors and hardware contractors
  • Interior systems or multi-trade subcontractors
  • Commercial renovation / build-out specialists
  • Fixture or production managers with installation sequencing experience

Why This Role Matters

These projects require more than schedule tracking. They demand foresight, technical awareness, and disciplined coordination. Clients expect precision. Field conditions shift quickly. Success comes from planning ahead, staying composed, and driving execution with clarity.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance bonus potential
  • Health benefits
  • Retirement plan
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Long-term career growth opportunity
