Interior Subcontractor Projects

This is NOT a General Contractor role

Location: Dallas Fort Worth Area

Employment Type: Full Time

Tenant Improvement Project Manager | Commercial Interiors | Drywall, Framing, Ceilings, Glass, Millwork | Corporate Office Buildouts

Overview

This role is for someone who has already worked inside the commercial interiors subcontractor environment. Projects move quickly, spaces are tight, and multiple interior trades must work together with precision.

You will lead tenant improvement build outs inside corporate environments including boardrooms, conference rooms, breakrooms, office suites, lobby renovations, and restaurant interiors where sequencing and coordination are critical. Many projects occur inside occupied buildings where schedule control, quality standards, and professional communication matter.

This position requires someone who understands how interior construction systems come together and who can coordinate several trades toward a clean, high quality finished space.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working for a subcontractor that installs commercial interior systems such as drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, glass systems, millwork, doors, flooring, or similar interior scopes

• Experience managing tenant improvement or commercial interior construction projects from kickoff through completion

• Hands on experience coordinating field crews and subcontractors responsible for interior build out work

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, and field measurements

• Experience sequencing multiple interior trades and resolving jobsite conflicts during active construction

• Experience tracking schedules, materials, manpower, and daily jobsite progress

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews, vendors, and clients

• Comfortable managing multiple projects within fast paced commercial environments

Job Responsibilities

• Run tenant improvement projects from kickoff through punchout

• Coordinate subcontractor scopes including drywall, framing, acoustical ceilings, millwork, glass systems, doors, flooring, and interior finishes

• Verify measurements and field conditions before trades mobilize

• Identify conflicts early and resolve issues before they impact schedule

• Track materials, manpower, and sequencing throughout the project lifecycle

• Work directly with field crews to solve installation challenges and jobsite conditions

• Communicate clearly with clients, site teams, and vendors

• Deliver clean, high quality work inside occupied commercial environments

Preferred Experience

• Project management experience with commercial interior subcontractors specializing in drywall, acoustical ceilings, millwork, glass systems, or interior installations

• Experience managing interior build outs within occupied office or corporate environments

• Familiarity with construction scheduling tools, digital drawing review platforms, or project management software

Who Thrives in This Role

• Interior subcontractor project managers who enjoy coordinating trades and solving problems in real time

• Professionals who think ahead and anticipate jobsite challenges before they occur

• Even tempered leaders who remain calm and solution focused under pressure

• People who take ownership of projects and take pride in delivering high quality finished spaces

Who Will Not Be a Fit

• Ground up construction project managers whose experience is primarily new building construction

• Owner representatives whose role focused on oversight rather than trade coordination

• Architects or interior designers whose background centers on design rather than field execution

• Professionals who prefer slow paced environments or highly segmented responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive base salary

• Bonus potential

• Health benefits

• Retirement plan

• Paid holidays and PTO

• Long term career growth environment
