Industrial Custom Equipment Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team (8–10) of outside sales professionals within a regional territory
  • Personally prospect, open, and close new business through cold, in-person outreach and on-site discovery
  • Partner with customers to understand operations and provide custom, engineered solutions
  • Participate directly in solution development, presentations, and complex financial negotiations
  • Manage long, consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
  • Set expectations for activity, pipeline management, and sales execution through example

Industrial Custom Equipment Sales Manager Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in complex B2B sales, preferably within industrial, automation, or technical environments
  • Proven success selling non-commoditized, custom, or engineered solutions with long sales cycles
  • Strong hunter mentality with comfort in cold calling and face-to-face prospecting
  • Demonstrated leadership or player-coach experience
  • Solid business and financial acumen with negotiation experience
