Wellness Director (RN or LPN)

Senior Living Community

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Wellness Director to lead clinical services within a vibrant senior living community. This role blends hands-on clinical oversight with leadership, collaboration, and resident advocacy. You will partner closely with the Executive Director and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional care, regulatory compliance, and a safe, dignified living environment for residents.

If you are a nurse leader who values relationships, structure, and quality outcomes, and who wants to make a meaningful impact in seniors’ lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to lead with purpose.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Leadership & Resident Care

  • Oversee resident health assessments, care plans, and ongoing monitoring of changing conditions.
  • Serve as the primary clinical liaison between residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
  • Lead medication management processes, including transcription of physician orders, coordination with pharmacy partners, and medication administration oversight.
  • Ensure infection control practices, emergency response protocols, and first aid procedures are consistently followed.
  • Participate in resident and family care conferences and interdisciplinary care plan meetings.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise and support wellness department staff, including scheduling and performance oversight.
  • Provide orientation, ongoing education, and in-service training related to clinical care and medication processes.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support the Executive Director with staff-related matters, including incident documentation and follow-up when needed.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, OSHA standards, HIPAA requirements, and community policies.
  • Assist with survey preparation, inspections, and plans of correction.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation across resident records and clinical reports.
  • Monitor and reinforce resident rights, privacy, dignity, and choice in all care practices.

Admissions & Community Support

  • Participate in admission decisions and assess prospective residents for appropriateness of care.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support census stability and continuity of care.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for families, referral sources, vendors, and regulators.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current, active state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • 5 or more years of experience caring for seniors, including individuals with cognitive decline, preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices, medication management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, ethical, dependable, and team-oriented leadership style.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet health requirements.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • On-site leadership role with availability for clinical questions and emergencies.
  • May require flexibility outside standard business hours as needed.
  • Exposure to typical healthcare environments, including infectious materials, per OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to perform medium physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Why This Role Matters

This position plays a critical role in shaping the daily experience, safety, and well-being of residents. You’ll have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, influence care standards, and build trusted relationships with residents and families, all while working in a mission-driven senior living environment.
