Construction & Outage Planning Drafter

Locations: NJ | PA | OH (Fully On-Site)

A growing, utility-focused project and program management firm is expanding its team and seeking experienced Construction & Outage Planning Drafters to support high-voltage transmission and substation capital programs.

This organization partners directly with major utilities to help modernize and strengthen the electrical grid. They are known for disciplined project execution, strong internal collaboration, and long-term utility partnerships. If you have experience supporting transmission, distribution, or substation environments and enjoy turning complex outage plans into clear, buildable drawings — this is a strong opportunity.

Compensation

• $110,000 – $190,000 annually (based on experience)

• W2 hourly structure with 1.5x overtime

• Discretionary performance bonus

What You’ll Do

• Develop detailed CAD drawings that support outage and construction sequencing

• Translate outage planning strategies into clear, field-ready documentation

• Ensure drawing accuracy, version control, and documentation standards

• Collaborate closely with outage planners and engineering teams

• Identify constructability issues and improve drawing clarity

• Support high-voltage transmission and substation capital projects

What You Bring

• Associate’s degree OR 3–5+ years of drafting experience

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit

• Experience supporting transmission, distribution, or substation projects

• Familiarity with outage sequencing or capital project environments

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

• Strong organizational and communication skills

Ideal Background

• Utility or power generation environments

• Substation or transmission design exposure

• Experience working within outage or capital improvement programs
