Assistant General Manager

We are hiring an Assistant General Manager for a well-established, high-volume neighborhood restaurant in Washington, DC’s Spring Valley area. We are a fast-paced, guest-focused restaurant with strong community roots. Our Assistant General Manager position is a hands-on leadership role focused on running daily operations, supporting team development, and ensuring consistent service execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Restaurant Manager in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Experience leading hourly teams in both front- and back-of-house operations
  • Direct responsibility for labor management, scheduling, and/or inventory control
  • Experience in full-service or fast-casual restaurants with consistent guest volume
  • Strong floor leadership presence with a hands-on, service-first management style
  • Ability to stay composed and effective during peak service periods
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak business hours
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in daily restaurant operations with a strong presence on the floor during service
  • Lead and support front- and back-of-house teams through coaching, direction, and accountability
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and ongoing team development
  • Maintain consistent guest experience standards through active involvement in service
  • Monitor labor, inventory, and controllable costs to support operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company standards
  • Serve as a key leader during peak service periods, helping maintain structure and flow
  • Support accurate reporting, scheduling, and operational documentation
