Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 4+ years of prior security experience required
- 1+ years of hotel security experience preferred
- 1+ years of campus security experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
- Ability to commute to Minneapolis, MN 55447 (required)
- Must possess a smartphone to access reporting and scheduling apps
- Willing to participate in pre-employment screening (drug test, federal background check, fingerprinting); may take 2–4 weeks
- Available for weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling
- Comfortable working on-call/as needed due to unpredictable callouts
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred (training provided within 90 days if not certified)
- Ability to meet physical requirements: walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, clear communication, and report writing
Must Haves (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
- Fill open posts across various client sites based on business needs
- Perform routine foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas
- Respond to incidents and complete accurate, timely reports
- Support employees, customers, and visitors with professional, friendly assistance
- Maintain visibility and uphold safety protocols to ensure a secure environment
- Adapt quickly to schedule changes and different site environments
- Learn and utilize the company’s guard management/reporting app for all shift activity
Preferred Background & Skills
- Prior experience in hotel, campus, or corporate security environments
- Strong customer service skills (2+ years preferred)
- Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and diffuse challenging situations
- Strong communication, situational awareness, and decision-making abilities
- Experience rotating across multiple property types
- Interest in career advancement, specialized certifications, or leadership opportunities
