Cafe General Manager – Washington, DC

A well-established hospitality group is seeking a motivated and business-savvy general manager to lead their popular daytime cafe in Washington, DC. Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of general manager experience in a full-service restaurant or cafe
Proven track record of meeting sales, labor, and cost targets
Experience managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
Team leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
Highly organized with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
DOH accreditation and/or ServSafe certification
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Cafe General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Passion for hospitality and building guest loyalty
Experience engaging with the local community
Strong attention to quality assurance and health & safety practices

Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee all daily cafe operations, ensuring seamless service and efficiency
Inspire and motivate your team, fostering a positive and energetic environment
Build authentic connections with guests and cultivate regulars
Ensure consistent quality standards and adherence to steps of service
Manage store profitability by monitoring sales, controlling costs, and hitting targets
Support team growth through regular feedback and performance reviews
Lead compliance in health, safety, and food safety standards
Represent the cafe and brand within the local community
