Buyer Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5+ years of buying experience, including roles as Associate Buyer and Buyer (not Assistant Buyer).
- Proven track record of driving sales results and executing successful buying strategies.
- Strong analytical, financial, strategic, and planning skills.
- Exceptional negotiating skills with expertise in vendor negotiations and relationship management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Buyer Preferred Background & Skills
- Previous experience with "Big Box" is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort level in taking measurable risks.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Buyer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate high-quality merchandise to offer a desirable and rapidly changing mix for customers.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and fashion to make strategic decisions that drive sales and improve gross margin.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of buying strategies.
- Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships to secure favorable terms.
- Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing market conditions to maximize business performance.
