Position Overview:
The Location Manager oversees daily operations and staff at a ferrous and non-ferrous scrap recycling facility. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, integrity, and work ethic, ensuring efficiency in material handling, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing warehouse, drive-through, and yard operations, coordinating with trucking partners and retail customers, and performing general labor as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bilingual communication and exceptional customer service.
- Manage daily site operations, inventory, and logistics.
- Respond promptly to calls, texts, and emails.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff while enforcing safety and compliance.
- Partner with HR on performance and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure OSHA, environmental, and company standards are met.
- Track KPIs, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of management or supervisory experience in recycling, scrap metal, or industrial operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with yard or warehouse equipment (loaders, forklifts, shears, balers, etc.).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental safety standards.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.
- Proficient with basic computer and reporting tools (email, spreadsheets, KPI tracking).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
