Commercial Real Estate Attorney Requirements & Qualifications
- J.D. from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- 5 to 10+ years of commercial real estate law experience at a large or reputable law firm.
- Extensive background in purchase and sale, finance, and joint venture transactions.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex real estate documents.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience managing multiple real estate transactions independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
- Experience with real estate, landlord, and tenant matters; unlawful detainer expertise is required.
- Must be local to San Diego or Los Angeles

- Ability to build strong client and team relationships.
Commercial Real Estate Attorney Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and joint venture agreements.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and coordinate comprehensive closing processes.
- Advise clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, development projects, and other real estate matters.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel to resolve complex legal and business challenges.
- Monitor relevant real estate laws, trends, and industry developments to provide strategic advice.
- Manage commercial acquisitions, sales, and financings from contract through closing and post-closing, including closing coordination and maintaining transaction checklists.
