We are seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to join a growing food manufacturing organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer demand is met by developing and maintaining production schedules while optimizing inventory, labor, materials, and manufacturing capacity. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate production schedules across multiple product lines while considering shelf-life, allergen controls, sanitation schedules, and changeover requirements.
- Partner with Procurement to ensure timely availability of ingredients, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to maximize plant efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Monitor daily production performance and adjust schedules to address equipment downtime, labor shortages, material constraints, and changing customer priorities.
- Analyze production capacity, identify bottlenecks, and implement scheduling improvements.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand planning activities.
- Generate production schedules, forecasts, and key performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule adherence, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of production scheduling, planning, or supply chain experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Plex, or NetSuite.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze production data and trends.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is preferred.
