We are seeking an experienced Warehouse / Freezer Manager to lead warehouse, freezer, shipping, and receiving operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, food safety compliance, efficient product movement, and the development of a high-performing warehouse team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience managing warehouse operations, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all warehouse, freezer, shipping, and receiving operations.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse personnel to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, reporting, and month-end inventories.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring on-time deliveries.
- Partner with Production and Plant Leadership to support daily manufacturing schedules.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and company policies.
- Maintain proper FIFO inventory rotation and inventory control practices.
- Supervise warehouse organization, freezer storage, and loading dock operations.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment and fleet assets.
- Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide hands-on operational support during peak production periods or staffing shortages.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical training preferred.
- 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, or logistics management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership experience supervising warehouse or shipping personnel.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
- Strong inventory management and warehouse management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including freezer conditions when necessary.
- Food manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
