Construction Engineer II Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
- 3+ years of experience in construction and civil engineering.
- CPM scheduling knowledge and estimating skills.
- Strong understanding of construction engineering principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Microstation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
- Flexibility to work both indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
- Basic knowledge of soil, aggregates, concrete, and bituminous materials.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or significant progress toward licensure.
Construction Engineer II Preferred Background & Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
- High motivation and a strong sense of ownership over work quality and deadlines.
Construction Engineer II Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support transportation and infrastructure project execution under the guidance of senior staff.
- Inspect construction activities and document compliance with contract documentation.
- Read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Measure and calculate project quantities performed in the field.
- Prepare technical reports to record daily construction activities and findings.
- Contribute to quality assurance by reviewing work completed by junior staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues to market firm capabilities and build client relationships.
