A well-established healthcare and senior living organization is seeking a Dietary Director / Registered Dietitian to oversee dietary operations, clinical nutrition services, and food service management within a long-term care environment. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all dietary department operations including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and supply levels
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility dietary regulations and standards
  • Oversee menu planning, therapeutic diets, and nutritional assessments
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and resident reviews
  • Monitor meal preparation, tray line operations, food quality, and sanitation practices
  • Complete dietary documentation including MDS, assessments, progress notes, and care plans
  • Conduct kitchen sanitation rounds and support survey readiness and plans of correction
  • Collaborate with residents, families, nursing staff, and department leadership to ensure nutritional needs are met
  • Lead department initiatives focused on quality improvement, safety, and resident satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited program
  • Licensed or certified Dietitian in the State of Michigan OR Registered Dietitian credential required
  • Minimum 3 years of related dietary or clinical nutrition experience preferred
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, therapeutic diets, and food service operations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service mindset
