A fast-casual café specializing in sandwiches, grain bowls, and avocado toasts is seeking a Sous Chef to join the team. We have a hardworking, talented staff and are looking for someone highly organized and hands-on to help oversee daily operations, streamline kitchen workflow, and support the Head Chef. This role works both on the line and in a leadership capacity, taking charge of the kitchen when the Head Chef is off.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume, and highly seasonal environment.

Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen leadership experience (café, fast-casual, or high-volume concepts preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and organize a team in a positive, professional manner
  • Experience with ordering, inventory, kitchen organization, and maintaining food quality
  • Hands-on line experience: cooking, expediting, prep, and assembling orders
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and professionalism

Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in fast-casual, café, or daytime concept kitchens
  • Familiarity with high-volume, weather- or seasonally-driven operations
  • Strong organizational skills to support evolving kitchen systems
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative, positive kitchen culture
