Restaurant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of general manager experience in upscale dining
  • Deep knowledge of upscale dining standards, wine service, craft cocktails, private events, and premium beverages
  • Hospitality-focused attitude with enthusiasm and a passion for guest experience
  • Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, and team development skills

Restaurant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations for an upscale restaurant and banquet facility
  • Lead, train, and inspire the restaurant and banquet teams to deliver outstanding service
  • Manage financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to drive business growth
  • Foster excellent staff relations, ensuring high engagement and efficiency
  • Take full responsibility for team development and succession planning
