Chef de Cuisine Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of kitchen leadership or executive-level culinary experience in high-volume restaurant environments
  • Experience working in multi-unit or production kitchens preferred
  • Strong understanding of multi-unit culinary operations, prep systems, inventory management, and service execution
  • Deep knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and operational organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record leading, developing, and motivating high-performing kitchen teams
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple operational needs across diverse service styles
  • English proficiency required; Spanish language skills a plus

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with new restaurant openings, menu development, or large-scale culinary initiatives
  • Familiarity with sustainable sourcing, waste reduction, and responsible culinary practices
  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and talent development abilities

Chef de Cuisine Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire culinary teams across several kitchens, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and execution
  • Maintain oversight of prep production systems, inventory controls, and daily kitchen operations
  • Collaborate with leadership on menu development, recipe testing, and training systems
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and company standards throughout all kitchen areas and production spaces
  • Support alignment and communication between back-of-house and front-of-house teams for seamless service flow
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and drive process innovation without sacrificing operational excellence
