Wedding and Events Sales Director

Wedding and Events Sales Director Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of hospitality or lifestyle industry sales experience
  • Minimum 3 years of wedding sales with proven results
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching ability within sales teams
  • Willingness to work Wednesday through Sunday, including weekends
  • Highly organized, strategic, and service-driven approach
  • Polished, professional presentation and excellent time management
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Ability or willingness to obtain certifications including ServSafe, TIPS, Allergen Awareness, and CPR/First Aid

Wedding and Events Sales Director Preferred Background & Skills

  • Familiarity with Caterease or similar event management platforms
  • Comfortable using technology solutions such as ActiveCampaign and Calendly
  • Experience hiring, directing, and partnering with wedding planners and event staff
  • Creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset

Wedding and Events Sales Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Guide clients from inquiry through planning to event completion, delivering an outstanding experience at every step
  • Lead sales and marketing outreach to consistently achieve booking goals
  • Oversee and coach Sales Specialists and Events Specialists, driving team development
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth event operations
  • Develop and implement pricing, reporting, and sales strategies
  • Represent the venue with professionalism and warmth, both on property and in industry relationships
