Our client, a growing and highly respected insurance defense litigation law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support their expanding Seattle office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, team-oriented firm and play a key role in supporting litigation and transactional matters in both state and federal courts.

Legal Assistant Benefits and Compensation:

  • Competitive salary: $70,000 – under $80,000 annually, based on experience
  • Annual performance-based raises (typically 3–5%)

Legal Assistant Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a law firm setting (legal admin, legal secretary, or similar role)
  • Direct experience with state and federal court e-filing required
  • Strong familiarity with court rules, formatting standards, and filing procedures
  • Experience calendaring deadlines and managing litigation timelines
  • Ability to prepare and format pleadings, discovery, and motion shells
  • Comfortable supporting early-career attorneys and helping ensure procedural and document formatting accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with document management systems (NetDocuments preferred)
  • Familiarity with legal calendaring software and accessing court dockets (Lexis or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in spelling, grammar, and syntax to proofread legal documents prior to submission

Legal Assistant Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience working in a small to mid-sized litigation firm
  • Exposure to multi-state filings
  • Self-sufficient professional who can independently locate court requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance shifting priorities
  • Team-oriented mindset with interest in long-term growth within a collaborative firm
