Vice President of Residential Operations

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Psychology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in residential or congregate care settings
- Demonstrated success leading multi-site operations and large, diverse teams
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, youth development, and residential best practices
- Experience with CARF standards and multi-state regulatory compliance
- Proven fiscal management and budget oversight experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency and experience with operational reporting systems
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotation
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to execute emergency response techniques as needed
- Successful completion of motor vehicle, criminal, and required background checks
Must Haves:
- Lead CARF accreditation readiness efforts, including corrective action planning and audit preparation across multiple sites
- Evaluate restraint incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement restraint reduction strategies with measurable tracking
- Partner with Admissions to actively manage census, payor mix balance, and capacity planning
- Oversee residential dining services to ensure regulatory compliance, nutritional quality, and budget alignment
- Design staffing models that reduce overtime while maintaining appropriate supervision ratios
- Integrate residential, clinical, and educational programming to ensure holistic service delivery
- Develop community partnerships that create employment, enrichment, and experiential opportunities for youth
- Implement engagement strategies that reduce turnover and strengthen leadership bench development
- Oversee facility safety protocols, licensing standards, and crisis response systems across all locations
- Use outcome data to drive continuous improvement initiatives tied to student achievement and well-being
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience in multi-state residential or therapeutic educational environments
- Advanced training in Positive Behavior Support, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and Family Systems approaches
- Experience scaling residential programs or leading organizational growth initiatives
- Strong executive presence with experience representing organizations in public forums
- Background in change management and culture transformation initiatives
- Experience working with diverse funding sources and government contracts
- Demonstrated success improving census growth and financial performance
