Job Title: Contract Process Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)
Location: Irvine, CA (On-site)
Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 (Contract)
Type: Full-Time Contract | Start ASAP
A specialized manufacturer of safety cutters and precision blades is seeking a hands-on Process Engineering Manager to evaluate, optimize, and modernize manufacturing processes across press stamping, heat treating, and blade grinding operations.
This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who can challenge existing workflows, implement data-driven improvements, and gain cross-functional buy-in to drive measurable performance gains in a safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering across blade grinding and cutter manufacturing
- Improve workflows, reduce waste, and improve cycle times and quality
- Implement SOPs and best practices across operations
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues with cross-functional teams
- Mentor operators, engineers, and production staff
- Promote safety and regulatory adherence
Required
- 3–5 years of leadership in Process/Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong background in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering
- Experience optimizing high-precision manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and team alignment skills
Preferred
- Grinding, machining, metal fabrication, or blade production
- Lean, Six Sigma, SPC
- Safety-critical manufacturing experience
