A well-established, high-volume food manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Third Shift Sanitation Manager to lead and strengthen overnight sanitation operations. This role is critical to ensuring the facility is fully cleaned, sanitized, and production-ready each morning while continuously improving food safety and sanitation standards.
This is an additive leadership role, working closely with the current Sanitation Manager to enhance and standardize the sanitation program—not a replacement position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all third-shift sanitation operations in a high-volume bakery/donut manufacturing environment
- Supervise, coach, and hold accountable two third-shift Sanitation Leads through hands-on leadership and training
- Partner side-by-side with the current Sanitation Manager to strengthen sanitation systems, processes, and execution
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, USDA/FDA regulations, allergen controls, and internal food safety standards
- Develop, execute, and continuously improve sanitation SOPs, SSOPs, master sanitation schedules, and verification records
- Conduct inspections, pre-operational walk-throughs, and internal audits; drive corrective actions to closure
- Train sanitation staff on chemical handling, equipment breakdown and cleaning, food safety expectations, and safe work practices
- Maintain accountability for labor utilization, chemical usage, sanitation effectiveness, and documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams to support uptime and minimize contamination risks
Qualifications
- Previous sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing required
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety regulations, and allergen control
- Proven leadership, training, and accountability skills
- Hands-on, floor-focused management style with the ability to lead by example
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive on third shift and maintain consistent operational standards
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary, and benefits
- Stable leadership role within a growing manufacturing operation
- Opportunity to make a lasting impact by strengthening and modernizing sanitation programs
- Flexible third-shift schedule of 50+ hours per week, typically Monday night through Friday night (approx. 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with weekend shifts as needed
