This is a hands-on Controller / Finance Manager leadership role within a growing, multi-unit restaurant organization, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting and financial operations while partnering closely with executive leadership. The Controller / Finance Manager will play a critical role in financial accuracy, cost control, compliance, and operational decision-making in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Controller / Finance Manager – Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Controller or Finance Manager, preferably in multi-unit restaurants or hospitality
  • Strong hands-on accounting background including month-end and year-end close
  • Extensive experience with COGS, inventory control, and variance analysis
  • Experience managing heavy inventory environments ($15M–$20M+ revenue preferred)
  • Proficiency with Restaurant365 or similar restaurant accounting systems
  • Strong understanding of cash management, AP/AR, and general ledger
  • Experience coordinating audits and supporting tax filings
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage banking relationships and credit card processors
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

Controller / Finance Manager – Preferred Background & Skills

  • Multi-unit restaurant, hotel or hospitality accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to partner closely with Operations to manage food cost and inventory accuracy
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including budget vs. actual analysis
  • Experience establishing internal controls and financial best practices
  • Comfort working in a lean organization where leaders wear multiple hats
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present financial data clearly
  • Alignment with company culture, values, and brand standards
