CNC Production Supervisor Benefits & Compensation

CNC Production Supervisor Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of CNC machine shop or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1+ year of supervisory experience leading production teams
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and general manufacturing
  • Experience managing daily production schedules, material flow, and priorities
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and adjust staffing or workflow on the fly
  • Comfortable coordinating with quality and engineering to keep work moving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
  • Clear, steady communicator who works well across departments
  • Willingness to jump in on the floor when headcount gets tight
  • Valid driver’s license

CNC Production Supervisor Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience working in ISO-certified or regulated environments
  • Exposure to Lean, CI, or process-improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with multi-department coordination within a machine shop
  • Comfortable working four 10-hour shifts with an early start
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting

CNC Production Supervisor Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee machining, assembly, and shipping/receiving operations
  • Monitor material availability and resolve issues impacting schedule
  • Adjust machine utilization and staffing to meet production goals
  • Coordinate workflow with quality and engineering teams
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Provide daily updates on progress, obstacles, and team status
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, ISO processes, and internal values
  • Step in to assist with hands-on tasks during workload spikes or gaps
