Banquet Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience in a large hotel or resort banquet kitchen as a Banquet Chef or Banquet Executive Chef.
  • Proven experience managing events with a minimum of 80,000 sq ft of event space.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, and leadership abilities.
  • Solid financial acumen and proficiency with systems and computer software.

Banquet Executive Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Banquet Culinary Team, overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with Catering and Events to meet client expectations and dietary needs.
  • Maintain efficient food and labor costs while managing budgets and purchasing.
  • Oversee food production quality, including sauces, stocks, and butchery, ensuring readiness for service.
  • Foster a positive kitchen culture through collaboration with Banquets, Stewarding, and Catering teams.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, food safety regulations, and culinary innovations.
  • Perform administrative duties, including ordering, forecasting, and inventory control.

Banquet Executive Chef Preferred Background & Skills

  • Culinary Degree is preferred.
  • Serve safe certification or willing to get prior to accepting the role.
