Senior Estimator – Lime Soil Stabilization

A well-established civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with direct expertise in lime soil stabilization and chemical soil modification. This role focuses on estimating projects involving quicklime and hydrated lime applications used to improve subgrade performance, primarily across site development, utilities, and public infrastructure work.

This is a hands-on estimating role requiring strong technical understanding of chemical soil stabilization methods—not aggregate-only or crushed stone base work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for lime-treated soil and chemical soil stabilization scopes
  • Evaluate geotechnical reports to determine lime treatment recommendations, application rates, and construction methodology
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for lime application, soil mixing, moisture conditioning, and subgrade preparation
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from lime suppliers, subcontractors, and trucking providers
  • Develop accurate production rates and cost models specific to lime stabilization operations
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and manage RFIs as needed
  • Support project handoff, change orders, and scope clarifications post-award

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, site development, or earthwork
  • Direct experience estimating lime soil stabilization or chemical soil modification projects
  • Working knowledge of quicklime (CaO) and hydrated lime (Ca(OH)₂) applications
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical reports related to soil stabilization
  • Experience with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Insight, AGTEK, B2W, or similar
  • Proficiency with Excel and Bluebeam or similar takeoff tools

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $130,000–$160,000
  • Bonus opportunity
  • Healthcare, PTO, paid holidays
  • 401(k) / retirement plan
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
