Senior Counsel Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor with an active license to practice in Texas
- 5+ years of legal experience; combination of law firm and in-house strongly preferred
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts
- Strong communication skills with business-level to near-native English fluency; Mandarin or German a plus
- Ability to manage competing priorities and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving
- High integrity, strong ethics, and commitment to professional excellence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management systems, and redlining tools
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience supporting areas such as procurement, manufacturing, EHS, HR, real estate, and data privacy
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management abilities
- Ability to balance detail orientation with big-picture perspective
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Success working independently and collaboratively within global teams
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts—including supply, licensing, technical, warranty, development, and confidentiality agreements
- Manage a high volume of contracting activity across U.S. and European operations
- Provide legal guidance across HR, EHS, procurement, real estate, and policy development
- Support litigation matters and respond to breach of contract claims
- Maintain and update contract templates to support evolving business needs
- Identify operational and legal risks and communicate them effectively to senior leadership
- Advise internal stakeholders on compliance, legal exposure, and best practices
- Collaborate with global colleagues to ensure consistency in contract terms and risk allocation
- Perform additional legal tasks as needed to support business operations
