Assistant General Manager Benefits & Compensation

Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of café, coffee shop, or food & beverage management experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team
  • Warm, service-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality
  • Financial and operational competence (scheduling, cost control, reporting)
  • Excellent communication, adaptability, and organizational skills

Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Genuine passion for high-quality food, beverages, and guest experience

Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day café operations and serve as Manager on Duty when needed
  • Foster a positive, efficient, guest-focused team environment
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism
  • Support recruiting, hiring, training, and ongoing staff development
  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, and labor targets
  • Maintain high standards for hospitality, service quality, and operational efficiency
  • Assist in monitoring sales, COGS, labor, and expenses
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, profitability, and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure FOH and BOH areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards
  • Collaborate on local marketing and promotions to enhance customer engagement and brand awareness
