Maintenance Industrial Facility Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Industrial Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of all facilities systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure that the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable regulations, while leading a team of maintenance staff and contractors. This is not a union position. The client is not looking for hotel, apartment building, or warehouse candidates but factory, industrial, bakery of similar food production maintenance working managers.

Maintenance Industrial Facility Manager Key Responsibilities:

•     Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance and repair activities for Operating Equipment, Conveyors, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems.

•     Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians, and external contractors.

•     Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure facilities meet safety and operational standards.

•     Manage preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of assets and minimize downtime.

•     Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, work orders, and equipment inventory.

•     Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, codes, and environmental standards.

•     Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting expenditures and tracking costs.

•     Coordinate facility renovations, upgrades, and construction projects.

•     Respond to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

•     Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance needs are met efficiently.

Maintenance Industrial Facility Manager Qualifications:

•     5+ years of experience in facility management or industrial maintenance, including supervisory experience.

•     Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc.).

•     Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.

•     Proficient with maintenance software systems (e.g., CMMS).

•     Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

•     Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

•     Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

 

Key points:

This position really comes in as a Lead Assistant Manager to start. The candidate needs to be a “hands-on” manager. They will need to learn, work and train on all 3 shifts and understand the entire process flow for each shift and have confidence in running the crew and facility. The manager will be climbing unto conveyors 20 feet high, getting dirty, greasy and wet at times.

The manager will work each shift initially as each shift has their own technical needs and tasks. The candidate will be an assistant until the owners of the company feel they are capable and ready. There will be a lot of “5S training” practices needed to be enforced along with team building. This person will need to grow with the team while leading. The Manager will set their schedule to what days work best for the company and crew. During training the schedule could be any day or time but they could also work 5 days, 8 hr shifts if beneficial. Manager must have welding, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor or factory mechanical skills. Understand CMMS systems

 

Working Conditions:

•     Primarily on-site in an industrial maintenance facility environment.

•     May require occasional evening/weekend work or on-call availability.

•     Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding situations.

Maintenance Facility Manager Compensation and Benfits Include:
