General Manager – Fine Dining, NYC

Overview:

A world-class fine dining sushi restaurant in New York City is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead its front-of-house operations. This role requires a polished hospitality professional with a strong background in luxury or Michelin-caliber dining, capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences in a refined omakase setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the FOH team, ensuring seamless, high-touch service with precision and warmth.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and sushi team to execute flawless omakase service.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, development, and scheduling of all FOH staff.
  • Manage financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, inventory, and cost controls.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, compliance, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of fine dining or Michelin-level restaurant management experience.
  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards and guest relations.
  • Experience in sushi or omakase dining environments strongly preferred.
  • Japanese dining experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven leadership in developing high-performing hospitality teams.
  • Strong beverage knowledge, with sake and wine pairing expertise a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: $120K–$125K+, commensurate with experience.
