Data Center Systems Administrator
Location: Durham, NC (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Compensation: $75,000–$150,000 base + sign-on bonus, year-end bonus, relocation & immigration assistance, and comprehensive benefits
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Center Systems Administrator to support operations at a cutting-edge data center near Durham, NC. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting some of the world’s most advanced supercomputers and GPU clusters. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of infrastructure critical to high-performance computing and drug discovery research.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee system build-out, bring-up, and daily operations of supercomputers and GPU clusters.
- Develop, implement, and troubleshoot infrastructure code and operational processes.
- Manage and maintain hardware, software, and data center workflows.
- Support high-performance computing environments and contribute to process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers across multiple offices to resolve issues and optimize performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Background in Linux systems administration, data center operations, HPC (high-performance computing), or programming.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Eagerness to learn quickly, troubleshoot technical challenges, and adapt to new tools and systems.
- Experience with technology support, computer manufacturing, hardware inventory, or project planning is a plus (not required).
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with distributed teams.
- Open to all levels of experience, including entry-level and early-career candidates who are motivated to grow.
