An established meetings and events agency is seeking a Senior Director of Events to lead a talented planning team, strengthen client partnerships, and oversee exceptional event delivery. Senior Director of Events Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop event planners
- Oversee team operations and event delivery
- Assign programs based on skills and capacity
- Strengthen client relationships through consultative guidance
- Partner with leadership and account executives
- Resolve client concerns and execution challenges
- Improve planning processes, tools, and standards
- Develop training and talent development programs
- Directly manage one to two events annually
- Guide creative strategies and attendee experiences
Senior Director of Events Requirements & Qualifications
- Eight or more years in meeting or hospitality management
- Proven team leadership and staff development
- Strong event planning and operational expertise
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Strong organization and project management
- Strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel at least 30%
- Evening and weekend availability as needed
- CMP or CMM designation
- Agency-side meetings and events experience
- Oversight of multiple clients and programs
- Experience developing SOPs and training tools
- Success improving team efficiency and service quality
