Senior Electrical Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience in design for industrial, commercial, government, academic, R&D, or multi-family projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and knowledge of SKM and lighting design software
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and LEED accreditation required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
Senior Electrical Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design and produce construction documents for complex projects
- Mentor and train design and project engineers, ensuring quality and best practices
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members
- Perform electrical calculations including load studies, voltage drops, and equipment sizing
- Conduct field observations and document conditions and construction progress
- Review and respond to comments from clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other reviewers
- Manage project budgets and schedules while overseeing work through project completion
- Participate in design coordination meetings and handle construction administration items such as RFIs and change orders
