General Manager – Austin, TX

General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience managing high-volume at least $10M
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • High level of self-awareness, discipline, and energy; able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds
  • Experience adhering to food safety and health regulations; personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance required
  • Previous restaurant management experience required; steakhouse or BBQ background preferred but not mandatory
  • High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of corporate training program required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Track record in high-volume, upscale concepts (no fast food)
  • Natural ability to coach, train, and motivate teams
  • Business-minded with strong problem-solving skills and humility
  • Ability to build and maintain a vibrant, positive culture
  • Sense of humor and adaptable communication style

General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring alignment with brand standards for customer service, food quality, and financial performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop the management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for all staff
  • Drive effective cost controls and execute profit plans, maintaining accurate inventory and sales records
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards, including handling PPE and operating in hot, high-energy environments
  • Resolve guest concerns diplomatically and uphold a welcoming guest experience
  • Maintain equipment, manage orders, and prepare operational reports for leadership
