Assistant Director of F&B

Assistant Director of F&B Benefits & Compensation

Assistant Director of F&B Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; two-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or healthcare dining environment.
  • Maryland ServSafe certification required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, hospitality standards, sanitation, and food safety.

Assistant Director of F&B Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with upscale dining, special events, and retail food service.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and special event coordination.

Assistant Director of F&B Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support the Director with leadership and daily operations in all dining venues and special events.
  • Oversee, train, schedule, and motivate dining service team members to consistently uphold high standards in hospitality, food safety, and customer experience.
  • Act as the department leader in the Director’s absence, ensuring seamless operations and resident satisfaction.
  • Coordinate special events and catering, including staffing, setup, billing, and event execution.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu planning, service logistics, and resident-centered hospitality initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records related to schedules, payroll, inventory, meal counts, and operational reporting.
  • Be a visible leader in dining venues, addressing resident and guest needs with professionalism and genuine care.
